What We Do

James St. South offers a tasty and exciting dining experience in Belfast city centre. 

Opened by chef Niall McKenna back in 2003 the menu is served up by Head Chef David Gillmore, who has retained the focus on classic cooking, using the best seasonal and local produce available with dishes including Strangford Lough Bouillabaise, fresh Game and venison, as well as freshly churned ice cream.  The restaurants current menu can be viewed here.

The dining room has been recently refurbished by leading local architects Aidan McGrath (McGonigle McGrath) transforming the restaurant into give a  lively, busy and contemporary dining room with a glamorous and unique look.

Niall commissioned award winning ceramicist and local artist Derek Wilson to make a selection of wall hangings in the restaurant, which currently form part of his new collection of ceramics on sale through his studio.

The menu served up by Head Chef David Gillmore focuses on classic cooking using the best of locally sourced produce with signature dishes including Strangford Lough Bouillabaise and Organic Lamb. Check out our current menus click here.
